Last week’s Ed Sheeran show in San Diego was a night of big moments and simple ones.
At one point the whole stadium went dark, then everyone raised their phones at the exact same time. Thousands of lights flicked on and the stands glowed like a sea of stars.
On stage the screens showed close-ups of Ed while lasers cut through the night and a giant speedometer spun against fiery red graphics.
The energy never dropped. After the show we grabbed bacon-wrapped hot dogs from a street vendor outside. They were grilled, messy, perfect.
